9th Street

In Los Angeles,
We walked through the fashion district,
Cluttered with people, I fit in,
If this is LA, then what is New York?
This is the real LA
I haven't seen the big city before
But I've lived in California my whole life.
Daddy is afraid to venture here
He thinks he doesn't fit
And daddy is right about that.
Its funny that Americans don't fit here.
Or rather, those "stuck up whites."
We're so hypocritical.
Part of me is excited by this city.
The rest of me is scared, like daddy.
Here, being a teenager beyond my years,
It's not glorious.
Being eyed like I'm a piece of meat,
I miss being ignored,
On 9th Street.
