Princess

I've got my own demons,
They whisper things at night,
Should they ever want to leave,
I shalt put up a fight.

I've got my own demons,
Who think torture a delight,
And I've got to remind myself,
Things they say aren't ever right.

I've got my own demons,
They speak words that bite,
And remind me of terrible thoughts,
Like I'm a princess without a knight.

I've got my own demons,
But then you go and turn on the light,
They skitter away to depths unfathomed,
So once again I can sit down to write.
